This day started early for me, and it was marked with a bee sting! That comes with the territory when your venue is the stunning Burch Acres with their honey bee apiary -- And, as you can see, it was well worth it. This quaint cabin and farm belong to friends of the bride and groom, it was the perfect back drop for the day. Stu and Becky's wedding took place on a Friday that normally would have been a work day. It's such a testament to the love that their friends and family have for them that they were all able to make this a priority and be present.

You can always tell when a couple has been together for a while and finally decides to tie the knot. It's all in the details and what they choose to focus on on the day of their wedding. Choosing a non-holiday or weekend is a great way to stretch your budget to the things you really value. This was a small, intimate affair focused on only the closest friends and family and of course, each other. Becky and Stu made the request to forgo a lot of the traditionally posed wedding shots opting to spend most of their time capturing intimate moments of just the two of them. It made for such a unique and personal experience that I was honoured to be invited into. The weather wasn't cooperating for us, but maybe that was serendipity? We were able to sneak into one of the garden sheds at Burch Acres to get out of the rain. It was perfect.

Any time I think back on the weddings I shoot, I try to think of a few words that encapsulate the feeling and the vibe of the day. This one was different though. It wasn't the day itself that had an aura, it was Becky & Stu. They themselves were cozy, intimate and romance.
