Will & Katelyn
This spur of the moment wedding was truly a 'grab life by the horns' event. As I know all too well, tomorrow is not a guarantee and life has a way of throwing some curve balls. This one hit close to home. My own daughter has battled cancer, so when Will & Katelyn told me that she was very unexpectedly diagnosed with breast cancer and looking at an aggressive treatment plan, we were ready to make adjustments. Not wanting to waste a single minute, this couple decided to bump up the day of their wedding. I was so happy to move things around, and just check out some of the beautiful moments we were able to capture.
On an average schedule, you could easily take 12 - 18 months to plan and organize a wedding. From favours, vendors, venues etc, it is a huge undertaking! This wedding was assembled in 3 weeks! You would never know that it was technically a rush job because every detail was so thoughtfully executed. The decor relied heavily on the natural beauty of the surroundings. Which personally, is one of my favourite ways to style a wedding (not to mention gorgeously affordable!) The classic elegance of Katelyn's gown was the perfect juxtaposition with the raw enchantment of the forrest.
With such a short planning window, every single person in Will & Katelyn's families pitched in. The ceremony took place in the woods behind Katelyn's family home, and the bride's cousin absolutely killed it with hair and make-up. The food was provided via potluck by the guests and was beautifully displayed. All of the florals were done by a family friend as well.
And needless to say, there wasn't a dry eye in the house during the reception speeches and dancing. This is clearly a family that is ready to stand behind this couple and support them no matter what.
